This year our summer has been unusually warm. The tomatoes are the best I’ve ever grown in the Willamette Valley. I’ve picked green and yellow beans 4 times now, and a fifth picking is well along its way.
I’ve made a lot of applesauce from drops; apples have come on early, and my freezer was full by the end of August this year. That is a first!
Cherries (sweet Lamberts and sour Montmorency), blueberries, strawberries, green beans, applesauce, roasted tomatoes, and shredded zucchini fill the freezer.
What a bounty of goodness to enjoy this winter! Thank you Mother Earth!
